Sri Thep Historical Park, Phetchabun Province, อุทยานประวัติศาสตร์ศรีเทพ จังหวัดเพชรบูรณ์

The depicted icon is inspired by decorative stucco sculptures – dwarf figures pretending to bear the huge structure of Khao Khlang Nai Stupa in Sri Thep Historical Park. This stupa belongs to the whole complex of the Dvaravati place of worship at the centre of the ancient city constructed in the 7th Century AD in approximate. The religious complex, too, manifests how Dvaravati culture was integrated with the indigenous one.

Sukhothai Historical Park, Sukhothai Province, อุทยานประวัติศาสตร์สุโขทัย จังหวัดสุโขทัย

The depicted icon is inspired by King Ramkhamhaeng the Great’s Stone Inscription, the so-called Inscription No.1, which was built due to the royal command of the king in 1283 and is known as the concrete initiation of an ancient Thai alphabet named Lai Sue Thai. The genuine stone inscription, which has been registered in the list of UNESCO Memory of the World in 2003, is displayed in Bangkok National Museum.

Sdok Kok Thom Historical Park, Sra Kaeo Province, อุทยานประวัติศาสตร์สด๊กก๊อกธม จังหวัดสระแก้ว

The depicted icon is inspired by a Thai letter “ส” (So Suea) derived from the name Sdok Kok Thom (meaning “a huge stone temple surrounded by a mess of reeds) mentioned in the Sdok Kok Thom Inscription No.2 that lasts from Ancient Khmer Kingdom. The inscription was built in 1052 during the Reign of King Udyaditya Varman II of Ancient Khmer and belongs to the great significance of Southeast Asian Historical Studies since the lineage of Brahmins and Ancient Khmer kings are completely recorded there; this information can be traced back to 200 years. Today the Sdok Kok Thom Inscription No.2 is displayed in Prachinburi National Museum. Its information, along with other related accounts, is available in the information centre of Sdok Kok Thom Historical Park.

Mueang Sing Historical Park, Kanchanaburi Province, อุทยานประวัติศาสตร์เมืองสิงห์ จังหวัดกาญจนบุรี

The depicted icon is inspired by an Avalokiteshavara sculpture in the 13th Century AD discovered at Mueang Sing Temple. The Bodhisattva sculpture depicts the influence of Mahayana-Vajrayana Buddhism in ancient Thailand; the genuine one is displayed in Bangkok National Museum, Bangkok.

Phu Phra Bat Historical Park, Udon Thani Province, อุทยานประวัติศาสตร์ภูพระบาท จังหวัดอุดรธานี

The depicted icon is inspired by Nang Usa Tower – the natural vertical stone structure built by prehistoric men, perhaps for ritual performance or a residential purpose. The name Nang Usa is derived from the female protagonist of Usa-Ba Rot Legend, which narrates that King Kong Phan, the foster father of the legendary heroine, constructed a sky-high tower to hide her away from all males.

Phanom Rung Historical Park and Prasat Mueang Tam, Buriram Province, อุทยานประวัติศาสตร์พนมรุ้งและปราสาทเมืองต่ำ จังหวัดบุรีรัมย์

The depicted icon is inspired by eight-petaled lotus-shaped gold sheets discovered both in the garment-changing pavilion at Prasat Phanom Rung and in the central hall that is situated backwards to the back porch in the west of the Gopura building of Prasat Mueang Tam. The eight-petaled lotus symbolizes the eight directions and purity that could bring auspiciousness to whoever came there to worship the gods. The lotus-like gold sheets, at present, are displayed in Phimai National Museum, Nakhon Ratchasima Province.

Phimai Historical Park, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, อุทยานประวัติศาสตร์พิมาย จังหวัดนครราชสีมา

The depicted icon is inspired by the principal corn-shaped stupa of Phimai Stone Temple Complex aged in the 11th-12th Century AD in approximate. Since this principal stupa, which was constructed with sandstones, faces southwards, it differs from other Khmer-style religious sites in Thailand.

Phra Nakhon Sri Ayutthaya Historical Park: Wat Phra Ram Temple, Phra Mongkhon Bophit Assembly Hall and the Statue of King Rama Thibodi I (King U-Thong of Ayutthaya), Ayutthaya Province, อุทยานประวัติศาสตร์พระนครศรีอยุธยา จังหวัดพระนครศรีอยุธยา : วัดพระราม วิหารพระมงคลบพิตร และพระบรมราชานุสาวรีย์สมเด็จพระรามาธิบดีที่ ๑ (พระเจ้าอู่ทอง)

The depicted icon, the rightward-spiral conch, is inspired by the legend of Ayutthaya Founding – King Rama Thibodi I (King U-Thong) the founder and the first monarch of this ancient kingdom found an auspicious conch shell in Nong Sano Swamp, namely Bueng Phra Ram Pond at present. The conch radiants, likewise, reminisce about the auspicious moment when Ayutthaya Kingdom was officially founded – six minutes to ten ante meridiem (9.54 a.m.) on the 6th day of the waxing moon of the 5th lunar month in 1350 AD, which mentioned in Luang Prasert Aksoranit’s Chronicle.

Phra Nakhon Khiri Historical Park, Phetchaburi Province, อุทยานประวัติศาสตร์พระนครคีรี จังหวัดเพชรบุรี

The depicted icon is inspired by Chatchawal Wiangchai Tower, the ship-guiding lighthouse of Hat Ban Laem Beach for local fishermen. On 12th November 1861, His Majesty King Mongkut the Great (King Rama IV) visited this place to observe an astronomical phenomenon – the trajectory of Mercury in the heliocentric orbit.
